About the role
This role resolves mechanical problems, designs and implements custom mechanical tooling, and enables the handling, assembly, and disassembly of parts and sub-assemblies across the product life cycle.
What you'll do
- Independently develop and implement concepts for complex product issues and engineering solutions.
- Lead or execute engineering projects and research and development of new technologies.
- Specify and perform complex engineering analysis, identify issues, and troubleshoot engineering problems.
- Communicate with internal and external customers regarding engineering issues to address High Value Problems (HVP).
- Generate product specifications and define, coordinate, perform, and document engineering tests.
- Specify the development, design, or modification of engineering layouts, schematics, drawings, specifications, and documentation.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.
- 10-15 years of mechanical engineering experience.
- Technical expertise in mechanical engineering and knowledge of the Applied Materials product life cycle.
- Knowledge of adjacent engineering disciplines within your function.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to explain technical or sensitive information and build consensus.
