About the role
Tenstorrent is looking for a Physical Design Engineer to contribute to the physical implementation of chips from synthesis through tapeout. The role focuses on floorplanning, timing, power, performance, and area optimization across multiple IPs for AI/ML architectures.
What you'll do
- Implement chip physical design from synthesis through tapeout across multiple IPs.
- Partner with front-end and physical design teams to optimize floorplanning, timing, power, performance, and area.
- Execute floorplanning, clocking, I/O planning, timing closure, area improvement, and power optimization.
- Perform timing, EM/IR, and power analysis across physical implementation flows.
What you'll need
- BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with strong logic design fundamentals.
- Experience with synthesis, place-and-route flows, and physical design tools.
- Familiarity with timing, EM/IR, and power analysis.
- Experience contributing across floorplanning, clocking, I/O planning, timing closure, area improvement, and power optimization.
- Scripting skills in Tcl, Perl, Shell, and/or Python.
- Knowledge of low-power techniques such as power gating, multi-Vt, and voltage scaling.
