About the role
KLA is seeking an Optical Integration Engineer based in Milpitas to join the INSIGHT engineering development team. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining testing facilities in support of the ongoing INSIGHT product development roadmap.
What you'll do
- Build and align lasers and test equipment while working in a clean room environment.
- Participate in creating alignment and assembly procedures.
- Conduct testing, collect data, and create results presentations.
- Manage vendors to acquire all hardware required for testing.
- Travel to vendor sites to repair and troubleshoot KLA test fixtures, including occasional travel to KLA Singapore manufacturing sites.
What you'll need
- Optical training or equivalent work experience in the optical field, including optical alignment and testing laboratory work.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 2-3 years of experience, or a Master's degree (or Master's degree in optics with 2 years of optical hardware project experience).
- Basic optical understanding.
- Mechanical integration experience.
- Ability to travel to vendor sites globally and visit the Singapore manufacturing location (approximately 5% international travel).
Nice to have
- Prior experience handling high quality optics.
- Prior experience with laser systems alignment.
- Experience with start-to-finish data collection through analysis with electronic devices such as camera images and power meters.
- Experience processing and presenting data and conclusions.
- Past experience with KLA inspection tools integration.
