About the role

As an Electrical Hardware Design & Test Engineer at nEye, you will validate electronic systems, build custom test stations, and support board design for an optical circuit switching platform. The scope includes testing semiconductors and PCBAs, performing hardware bring-up, and validating ASICs, boards, and subsystems from prototype to production.

What you'll do

  • Design, build, and program custom electrical test stations for ASICs, circuit boards, and subsystems using custom fixtures, sockets, and wafer probers.
  • Design R&D, production-test, and product circuit boards, covering architecture block diagrams, component selection, schematic design, PCB layout, and fabrication management.
  • Perform board bring-up, debugging, and verification using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and electronic loads.
  • Identify root causes of hardware failures, execute validation plans, and participate in FMEA/FMECA analysis.
  • Collaborate with ASIC, firmware, FPGA, photonics, and mechanical engineering teams to establish scalable electrical test methodologies.
  • Partner with OSATs to develop, deploy, debug, and optimize electrical test solutions, fixtures, and methodologies for qualification and production ramp.

What you'll need

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5–8 years of industry experience in electronics test or design.
  • Hands-on experience with electronics bring-up, debugging, and hardware testing.
  • Experience with test automation using Python or a similar scripting language.
  • Lab proficiency with power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, waveform generators, electronic loads, and logic analyzers.
  • Soldering skills, including small components down to 0402.
  • Experience with Altium Designer for schematic and layout.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems and hardware/software integration.

Nice to have

  • Experience with semiconductor or ASIC test systems, including wafer probers.
  • Partnership or engagement with OSATs.
  • Experience designing custom test fixtures or automated validation systems.
  • FMEA/FMECA or other reliability engineering experience.
