About the role
AMD is hiring an MTS Systems Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
What you'll do
- Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output, and working parameters for hardware and software compatibility.
- Collaborate on the development, testing, and maintenance of Python applications and automation frameworks.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses and contribute to architectures used across multiple products.
- Evaluate process flows from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, timing, and power use.
- Validate and release microcode patches to ensure system security and performance integrity.
- Design validation test plans, debug RTL-level issues, and ensure integration with memory controllers.
What you'll need
- Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field with 3 years of engineering experience (or a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience).
- 3 years of experience in pre-silicon and post-silicon validation.
- 3 years of experience performing validation and release of microcode patches, ensuring system security and performance integrity.
- 3 years of experience designing and optimizing automation frameworks using Python.
- 3 years of experience with x86 microarchitecture.
- 6 months of experience designing validation test plans and ensuring integration with memory controllers.
- 6 months of experience with SoC validation and memory controller validation.
- 6 months of experience debugging RTL-level issues to ensure core performance reliability.
