About the role
AMD is hiring an MTS Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor ASIC development.
What you'll do
- Lead definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development, including architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
- Define module interfaces and formats for simulation, and lead the development of multidimensional designs involving complex integrated circuit layout.
- Evaluate the complete process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, timing, and power use.
- Optimize designs to meet power, performance, area, and timing requirements.
- Create assertions to improve coverage and build cover points to analyze coverage of the design.
- Work with cross-functional engineering teams to develop ASIC and layout designs, establishing evaluation criteria and methods.
What you'll need
- Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field plus 3 years of engineering experience (or a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience).
- 3 years of experience in object oriented design, Python, data structures, and National Instruments software.
- Experience with hardware verification, System Verilog, and design flows and methodologies used for chip verification.
- Experience with SOC or system architecture and ASIC design.
- Experience working with front-end EDA tools, Git, and Unix or Linux environments.
