About the role
You will join a team developing custom ASIC data converter solutions in GHz applications, implementing core ADC and DAC structures, streaming I/O data paths, or complex measuring and emulating communication transceiver ASICs in CMOS and BiCMOS technologies.
What you'll do
- Design high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits.
- Implement transistor level design and physical design.
- Design mixed-signal building blocks and integrated systems such as PLLs, DACs, Serializers, ADCs, or wideband amplifiers.
- Troubleshoot and drive to root cause on difficult problems.
What you'll need
- PhD in Electrical Engineering with thesis work on mixed-signal IC design, or MS in Electrical Engineering with substantial experience in IC design.
- Experience in designing high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits in CMOS or BiCMOS technologies.
- Experience with transistor level design and physical design.
- Experience with mixed-signal building blocks and integrated systems, such as PLLs, DACs, Serializers, ADCs, or wideband amplifiers.
Nice to have
- Experience in mixed-signal circuit design through a complete design and fabrication cycle.
- Strong working knowledge of GHz clock, DAC, and ADC circuits.
- Solid background in device modelling, thermal design, and IC package design.
- Understanding of semiconductor technologies, devices, and parasitics.
- Understanding of signal integrity and EM issues.
- Experience with at least the 65 nm process node.
- Experience with mixed-mode simulation of analog and digital blocks, including behavioral modelling of analog circuits, using tools like Verilog or Verilog A.
- Familiarity with programming and scripting languages for design, simulation, and testing automation.
- Ability to perform hands-on measurements using test and measurement equipment.
- Experience with synthesized digital design flows, using RTL descriptions to deliver verified netlists for physical synthesis.

How we counted: 173 open Mixed-Signal Design (Mixed Signal) roles from 44 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 10 Sept 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Analog & Mixed-Signal family row.
