About the role
Responsible for the design and development of multi-lens micro-optics components and systems, spanning optical design through micro-optics assembly and manufacturing.
What you'll do
- Design and simulate the performance of functional 3D micro-optical structures such as multi-element arrays and lenses.
- Manage project plans using optical design/analysis software and work with manufacturing partners and vendors to deliver prototypes.
- Develop fabrication and assembly techniques for high volume manufacturing.
- Work with opto-mechanical engineers to define mechanical tolerances and constraints at the system level.
- Execute process development on die bond equipment.
- Develop custom lens materials that meet reliability requirements.
What you'll need
- B.S., MS, or PhD in physics, optics, materials science, or equivalent knowledge.
- Experience in design, fabrication, and testing of lens arrays and precision molded optics.
- Deep knowledge of optical materials and material reliability testing.
- Experience working with vendors and suppliers.
Skills: micro-optics, die bond, lens arrays, molded optics, assembly, fabrication
