About the role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will process and resolve complex mechanical problems, design and implement custom mechanical tooling, and develop engineering layouts, schematics, and specifications across the product life cycle.
What you'll do
- Develop, design, or modify complex engineering layouts, schematics, and drawings or specifications.
- Design, develop, and implement custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes to enable the handling, assembly, and disassembly of parts, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
- Identify and troubleshoot complex mechanical problems and execute engineering projects, including key supplier development.
- Define, coordinate, perform, and generate engineering test reports, review engineering documentation, and perform complex engineering analysis.
- Oversee manufacturing and installation processes while coordinating the procurement and assembly of mechanical components and equipment.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- 4-7 years of mechanical engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience with CAD software.
- Demonstrated experience with thermodynamics and flow analysis.
- Demonstrated experience with sheet metal design, material selection, and manufacturing methods.
- Demonstrated experience with GD&T and Design for Excellence principles.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of the Applied Materials product life cycle, including prototyping, packaging, material selection, and manufacturing methods.
