About the role
Cirrus Logic is seeking a Manager of Software Engineering to lead the team developing embedded drivers for Cirrus Logic products and supporting the integration of Cirrus software solutions into customer platforms. The team develops bare-metal, Zephyr, Linux, and Android driver solutions for technologies including audio DSP codecs, audio DSP amplifiers, and haptic DSP amplifiers.
What you'll do
- Lead a team delivering customer-facing embedded drivers and supporting software integration across customer programs. - Partner with marketing and program management to align team priorities, capacity planning, staffing, and resource allocation to business objectives. - Manage execution risks, priority conflicts, and delivery hot spots across concurrent internal and customer deliverables. - Ensure team practices align with open-source software, security, quality, and AI standards and policies. - Build internal visibility into delivery status, quality trends, and workload through dashboards, checklists, and structured reviews. - Mentor engineers, build skill redundancy, and guide talent development and succession planning across the software organization.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. - 15+ years of experience in embedded, systems-level, or low-level software development. - 5+ years of technical people-management experience leading software teams responsible for customer-facing embedded software deliveries. - Strong understanding of embedded driver development, hardware/software integration, and platform bring-up. - Experience with bare-metal, RTOS, Linux, Android, Zephyr, or similar embedded software environments. - Demonstrated ability to manage capacity planning, execution risks, and cross-functional alignment across multiple programs.
Nice to have
- Experience with audio, haptics, DSP-based systems, codecs, amplifiers, or related mixed-signal products. - Experience supporting smartphone, wearable, gaming, automotive, PC, or consumer electronics platforms. - Familiarity with open-source software compliance, security practices, and software quality systems. - Experience developing dashboards, release checklists, planning views, or other mechanisms for improving execution visibility. - Experience with automated unit, integration, or system-level testing for embedded software. - Familiarity with Windows driver or application development, or PC software integration workflows.
