About the role

This role leads systems engineering and post-silicon support within the client and graphics platform engineering team in Austin, Texas. You will enable, debug, and qualify memory technologies including LPDDR5x/6, DDR5, and GDDR6/7 for AMD SOCs.

What you'll do

  • Provide systems engineering and post-silicon support for DDR, LPDDR, and GDDR memory interface IP.
  • Lead pre-silicon engagement by preparing test plans, reviewing simulation results, building automation scripts, and ensuring BIOS readiness in coordination with PHY/controller design, SI/PI, simulation, firmware, and BIOS teams.
  • Lead product bring-up from first silicon in the lab through initial production.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to drive feature enablement, optimization, and characterization efforts.
  • Drive system-level debug and root-cause analysis to isolate issues across hardware/software blocks alongside ATE, platform, design, diagnostics, firmware, and BIOS teams.
  • Support issue resolution on customer platforms in partnership with customer support teams.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering.
  • Experience with post-silicon support and pre-silicon validation for DDR, LPDDR, or GDDR memory interface IP.
  • Hands-on experience with system-level debug, root-cause analysis, and bringing up silicon in a lab environment.
  • Experience coordinating across cross-functional engineering teams, including PHY/controller design, SI/PI, firmware, and BIOS.

Nice to have

  • Deep knowledge of DRAM, memory controller, and PHY architecture and design concepts.
  • Understanding of platform-level signal integrity and power integrity technologies.
  • High-speed I/O design experience, including Tx, Rx, PLL/DLL, clocking, equalization circuits, training algorithms, and firmware.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware architecture (GPU, CPU/APU, memory, and bus logic) and software architecture (driver, BIOS, firmware).
  • Hands-on lab experience using oscilloscopes, signal generators, BERTs, and logic analyzers.
  • Programming and scripting experience with Ruby, Python, or Perl across Windows and Linux environments.

Skills: memory interface IP, DDR/LPDDR/GDDR, post-silicon support, Pre-Silicon engagement, system-level debug, bring-up
