About the role
MACOM is seeking an IT DevOps Engineer to join the EDA Infrastructure team, responsible for maintaining CI/CD pipelines, managing EDA tool licenses and environments, and resolving Linux system issues.
What you'll do
- Design, maintain, and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines and GitLab Runners on Linux hosts and container environments for hardware and software builds.
- Install, configure, and upgrade Cadence, Ansys, Siemens EDA (Mentor Graphics), and Keysight EDA tools across multi-user Linux environments.
- Administer FlexLM / RLM license servers, monitor utilization, and troubleshoot checkout failures.
- Diagnose and resolve Linux system issues including kernel panics, NFS/storage failures, memory leaks, and network connectivity problems.
- Manage RHEL workstations and compute servers, apply security patches, and configure and monitor LSF compute farm nodes for EDA batch jobs.
- Automate sysadmin tasks with Ansible playbooks and shell/Python scripts.
What you'll need
- 3–5 years of DevOps, systems engineering, or EDA infrastructure experience in a hardware design environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Hands-on proficiency with GitLab, including CI/CD pipelines, Runners, API, and webhooks.
- Demonstrated experience administering at least one major EDA suite: Cadence, Siemens EDA, or Keysight.
- Strong Linux systems skills (RHEL preferred) for troubleshooting, scripting, and performance analysis, alongside working knowledge of NFS, LDAP/Active Directory integration, and enterprise networking.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Salt, and scripting proficiency in Bash and Python.
