About the role
This internship involves working on audio signal processing for tactile sensing in robotics using a 2-finger or 3-finger gripper.
What you'll do
- Develop and characterize audio technologies in collaboration with experts.
- Combine audio and pressure measurements for grasp quality inference and material recognition.
- Evaluate algorithms in simulation and on a real robot gripper.
- Analyze data, report results, and present findings regularly.
- Implement data processing, visualization, and machine learning using Python and MATLAB.
- Contribute to novel sensing concepts and microphone solutions for robotics applications.
What you'll need
- Master student in Robotics, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering with a focus on Audio Engineering, Sensor Signal Processing or similar.
- Background in acoustics, signal processing, and machine learning.
- Proficient in C, C++, Python, or MATLAB.
- Very good English skills.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Robot Operating System 2 (ROS2).
