Validate and verify laser die (chip on submount) performance using optoelectronic test setups and Python data acquisition.
About the role
As a Laser Die Validation Intern in the Laser development team, you will inspect conformance to specifications and evaluate the operational limits of laser chips. Working under the mentorship of a senior engineer, you will validate and verify laser die (chip on submount) performance for laser source products.
What you'll do
- Execute tests and experiments to validate and verify laser die (chip on submount) performance against manufacturer and product specifications.
- Assist with instrumental and mechanical setup modifications tailored to individual test requirements.
- Perform mechanical and optical alignment for laser die validation setups.
- Implement data acquisition software optimizations and conduct data analysis.
What you'll need
- Active enrollment in an M.S. or Ph.D. program in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or Optics.
- Completed foundational coursework in physics or engineering, such as electrodynamics, calculus, solid state physics, optics, or laser-related subjects.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience working in a research lab performing tests and using optoelectronic test setups.
