About the role
This role supports the Cloud Platform Optics team in the design, development, and testing of electrical hardware for optical modules and AI platforms. The team works on integrated component platforms featuring high-speed Silicon photonics, transmit and receive amplifiers, and controller ASICs with DSPs.
What you'll do
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of electrical hardware for optical modules and AI platforms.
- Perform hands-on testing and debugging of hardware components using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal analyzers.
- Participate in hardware validation and verification, including debugging and troubleshooting.
- Help develop and maintain detailed design documentation, including schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs.
What you'll need
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in CS/EE, or a related field with an expected graduation date between Fall 2027 and Summer 2028.
- Completed coursework in electric circuits, circuit design, and programming.
- Understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
- Familiarity with CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout (e.g., Allegro, OrCAD).
- Proficiency in using lab equipment, with an understanding of electrical measurement and testing methodologies.
