About the role
This role provides on-site repair and maintenance services for Lam Research equipment at customer sites, focusing on operational excellence and minimizing downtime. The Field Service Engineer 1 will troubleshoot equipment problems, conduct diagnostic procedures, and assist with installation, start-up, or relocation of equipment.
What you'll do
- Provide on-site repair and maintenance service of Lam’s equipment at customer sites.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and conduct diagnostic procedures to isolate problems.
- Minimize downtime, system interruptions, and equipment malfunctions.
- Identify corrective actions required and request assistance from experienced staff for guidance.
- Assist with installation, start-up, or relocation of equipment at customer’s site.
- Keep up to date on semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through learning, training, and certification.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals.
- Ability to work in a clean room environment while wearing personal protective safety equipment or cleanroom suit.
- Ability to frequently position oneself (e.g., bend, stoop, reach, walk, sit, twist, squat, kneel, climb, stand) to perform job tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to travel frequently, domestically and internationally, based on customer needs.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including compressed and alternative workweeks, overtime, and on-call if needed.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with common office software including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Prior experience working in electronics field.
- Communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
- Foundational analytical and problem-solving skills.
