About the role
As an Equipment Engineer, you will own assigned toolsets and troubleshoot problems in mechanics, electronics, and process using tool knowledge, SPC, and schematics. The role provides technical ownership of 200/300MM semiconductor processing equipment across areas including C4 Bumping, PVD and CVD Thin Films, Dry Etch, Diffusion, Bond, Metrology, Wet Etch/Wafer Clean, Electroplate (ECD), or CMP.
What you'll do
- Provide technical leadership and management of 200/300MM semiconductor processing equipment in areas such as C4 Bumping, PVD and CVD Thin Films, Dry Etch, Diffusion, Bond, Metrology, Wet Etch/Wafer Clean, Electroplate (ECD), or CMP. - Work with process engineering and equipment maintenance technicians to drive root cause corrective actions of equipment failures, implement permanent solutions, and eliminate chronic down events. - Lead continuous improvement teams to drive tool matching, availability, throughput improvements, and risk reduction. - Complete new tool start-up and tool upgrades to increase fab capability and capacity, lower costs, and improve yields. - Balance priorities to serve the operational needs of the Maintenance, Production, and Development organizations. - Participate in cross-functional teams to create operational efficiencies across the organization.
What you'll need
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or another relevant engineering discipline. - 5+ years of experience within the respective semiconductor equipment area of expertise. - Experience with the application of structured problem-solving methodology. - Ability to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing operational priorities. - U.S. Citizenship with the holding of or ability to obtain a government security clearance.
Nice to have
- Experience with high vacuum and toxic gas delivery systems. - Experience with chemical handling, chemical delivery systems, and waste collection systems. - Experience with automated fault detection and classification systems (FDC). - Strong background with utilizing SPC. - Experience integrating equipment maintenance management software.
