About the role
As an AI Software Core Software Engineer, you will develop tools and support the AI SW platform for the Qualcomm AI Stack spanning the Qualcomm AI Runtime (QAIRT) SDK, Generative AI Inference Extensions (Genie), and hardware ML accelerator back-end support on the SoC. You will research AI toolchains and conduct performance, memory, and hardware profiling for Edge-AI use cases on embedded SoCs.
What you'll do
- Develop in-house software tools and evaluate third-party toolchains and compilers required for Qualcomm AI Stack SDKs, including QAIRT and Genie, to support generative AI models on Snapdragon platforms across operating systems like Android, Linux, QNX, Windows, and Zephyr. - Conduct system-level performance and memory profiling and benchmarking to support the AI software stack on SoCs for Edge-AI use cases. - Validate, analyze, and optimize software performance and accuracy through testing of machine learning use cases. - Debug complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure high system reliability across development and test ecosystems. - Participate in design and code reviews while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable toolchains.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field with 2+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience; or a Master's degree in the same fields with 1+ year of experience; or a PhD. - Work experience in software engineering, hardware engineering, or systems engineering.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. - 1+ years of experience building embedded software applications. - Proficiency in software tools development using C, C++, Python, compiler toolchains (LLVM, GNU), and build systems (Make/CMake). - General software development experience spanning projects or internships (entry level) or 2+ years (senior). - Experience with development across operating systems such as Android, Linux, and Windows, and knowledge of low-level OS and hardware interactions. - Experience using or integrating Qualcomm AI Stack products such as QNN and Genie. - Experience with agile software development practices and git-based SCM.
