About the role
As an Engineering Tech at MKS Instruments, you will partner with internal engineering teams to design, develop, build, test, and validate prototype engineering assemblies and custom test fixtures. This role reports to the Manager of Test Engineering and supports fixturing and tooling used to manufacture high precision optics and optical assemblies.
What you'll do
- Support ad hoc assembly of mechanical and electrical prototyping and assemblies.
- Work with a multi-disciplined team to deliver fixturing and tooling used to manufacture high precision optics and optical assemblies.
- Prepare and debug mechanical and electrical assemblies for tooling and fixturing to facilitate manufacturing.
- Follow written procedures or drawings developed by engineers and suggest improvements.
- Solder components including PCBAs and create wire harnesses.
What you'll need
- Minimum of 4+ years of related experience.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and bill of materials.
- Hands-on experience soldering components including PCBAs and creating wire harnesses.
- Experience preparing and debugging mechanical and electrical assemblies.
- Status as a "U.S. person" under ITAR/EAR regulations to access controlled goods and technologies.
Nice to have
- Associate degree or equivalent technician experience.
