Digital Mixed Signal Design and Modeling Engineer
About the role
As a Digital Mixed Signal Design and Modeling Engineer at Apple, you will develop behavioral models for complex analog IPs interfacing with digital control logic. Your models will enable mixed-signal simulations and deliver speedups over transistor-level simulations for custom integrated circuits.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with system architects, analog designers, and digital teams to establish precise model specifications for mixed-signal IPs.
- Develop high-speed models from schematics and design specs.
- Build mixed-signal testbenches and integrate models into projects to close the simulation loop.
- Develop verification plans, run regression suites, and debug digital/analog corner cases.
- Correlate model accuracy and performance against transistor-level SPICE simulations.
- Drive modeling methodologies to improve simulation turnaround times and ensure tapeout readiness.
What you'll need
- Minimum requirement of a bachelor's degree.
Nice to have
- Experience developing digital logic or behavioral models for analog and mixed-signal circuits using SystemVerilog, Real Number Modeling (RNM), or Verilog-A/AMS.
- Fundamentals in digital design and RTL development using SystemVerilog or Verilog.
- Knowledge of analog circuits and architectures, including power converters, regulators, references, and ADCs/DACs.
- Experience with industry-standard simulation and verification tools such as Xcelium and Virtuoso.
