About the role
The Design Evaluation Engineering Intern undertakes performance measurements and full silicon characterization of precision amplifiers, high-speed amplifiers, current sense, or ADC driver products. This role sits within the Precision Amplifier Group (PAG) and covers design evaluation from product definition through production and release.
What you'll do
- Work on silicon evaluation, debug, or characterization depending on the stage of the product lifecycle.
- Apply measurement methods to achieve high-precision specifications across precision amplifier and signal chain products.
- Process large amounts of data, document results, and present findings clearly.
- Interface with cross-functional teams across design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing as products move to release.
- Support development of hardware and software for automated and manual test capability, including hardware debug, PCB design, and instrument software drivers.
What you'll need
- Currently working toward a BS or MS degree in EE or ECE.
- Familiarity with performing circuit evaluation and characterization using bench test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
- Basic knowledge of analog and digital circuit design and test techniques.
- Familiarity with printed circuit board (PCB) design and layout tools such as OrCAD or Cadence.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of or exposure to LabVIEW.
Skills: characterization, bench test, oscilloscope, precision amplifiers, LabVIEW, PCB

How we counted: 454 open Post-Silicon Validation (Silicon Validation) roles from 65 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 6 Nov 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Silicon Validation & Test family row.
