About the role
This role involves supporting EDA/CAD tools for integrated circuit design flows within the Mixed-Signal CAD team.
What you'll do
- Provide tool and methodology support for design and layout teams.
- Automate and improve design engineering flows.
- Deliver reports to design groups and customers.
- Develop and automate new and existing design methodologies.
- Liaise with external tool vendors to drive improvements.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related subject area, or a background in integrated circuit design, CAD/EDA development/support, or software development with a focus on integrated circuit design.
- Deep understanding of analogue or mixed-signal design methodologies.
- Experience with revision control systems such as Perforce or SVN.
- Expertise in analogue simulation, parasitic extraction, Cadence OA.
- Experience scripting including Python and SKILL.
- Demonstrated debug and problem-solving skills.
- Deep understanding of Linux / UNIX.
Nice to have
- Expert-level knowledge of Cadence Virtuoso Environment, including Spectre/SpectreX simulation environment (Maestro/ADE).
- Experience with Cadence Virtuoso layout editor, driving the tool and debugging associated issues.
- Experience with digital simulators (Xcelium).
- Experience setting up Cadence Virtuoso startup scripts, .cdsinit & .cdsenv settings.
- LVS debug & Parasitic Extraction with Calibre or QRC/Quantus.
- Analogue Simulation ‘SOA’ or Safe Operating Area assert generation and verification.
- Experience of PDK setup including DRC/ERC review and sign-off.
- Experience with circuit ERC (PERC or InsightEDA).
