About the role
This role focuses on delivering features and bug fixes for the Sandisk consumer companion mobile application built in Flutter. You will integrate modern AI coding tools and agentic workflows into daily software development alongside senior engineering mentors.
What you'll do
- Ship features and bug fixes in the Sandisk consumer Flutter app, with senior engineers reviewing your work.
- Use AI coding agents as a daily driver for exploration, scaffolding, refactoring, test generation, and learning the codebase.
- Write clear specs and prompts, treating prompt engineering as an engineering skill.
- Verify what AI tools produce by reading diffs, running tests, and understanding committed code before submitting for review.
- Ramp on Flutter, Dart, and team architecture quickly while sharing new AI workflows, MCP servers, custom agents, and tooling practices.
- Take ownership of test coverage, refactors, documentation, and dependency hygiene using AI tools.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Science, Physics, or a related degree.
- Demonstrable evidence of being AI-native through side projects, shipped work, or workflows showing AI tools are central to your build process.
- Ability to verify, test, and read code before trusting model output, with awareness of model hallucinations.
- Solid programming fundamentals in at least one modern language, including the ability to read code, reason about it, and debug independently.
- Ability to work async in a distributed team with clear PR descriptions, commit messages, and strong written English.
- Self-direction to clarify fuzzy tasks, ask clarifying questions, and deliver finished work.
Nice to have
- A GitHub, blog, or portfolio showing AI-assisted projects you have shipped.
- Experience with Claude Code, Cursor, agent frameworks, or building with the Claude or OpenAI APIs.
- Mobile development exposure in Flutter, React Native, or native iOS/Android.
- Contributions to AI tooling, MCP servers, custom slash commands, or developer workflow projects.
