Bring up complex ASIC IP and SoC designs using Cadence Palladium hardware acceleration systems and UVM verification.
Originally posted 7 November 2026 by the employer.
About the role
Bring up complex ASIC IP and SoC designs on Cadence Palladium emulation platforms, convert the RTL database into emulation-ready models, and execute hardware acceleration. You will also support pre-silicon verification through standard UVM-based simulation, verification closure, and debugging.
What you'll do
- Compile, synthesize, and map complex RTL databases onto Cadence Palladium hardware acceleration systems, handling compilation errors, clocking/memory overrides, and full-chip and sub-system emulation model bring-up.
- Perform pre-silicon verification tasks using SystemVerilog and UVM, authoring test cases, developing monitors/checkers, and debugging RTL anomalies using waveform viewers.
- Diagnose and root-cause complex hardware, testbench, and environment issues across simulation and emulation using Palladium hardware-debugging features.
- Build and maintain automated scripts to compile the RTL database, launch Palladium regressions, and manage database hand-offs from design release teams.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of hardware description or verification experience, OR a Master’s Degree in a related field with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with hardware description or verification workflows.
Nice to have
- Deep hands-on experience with the Cadence Palladium enterprise emulation platform (e.g., Palladium Z1/Z2 or newer systems).
- Strong proficiency in hardware description languages (Verilog / SystemVerilog) and hardware synthesis concepts for emulation mapping.
- Proven experience with UVM (Universal Verification Methodology) simulation frameworks, assertion-based testing (SVA), and metric-driven coverage closure.
- Expertise in Python, Perl, Bash, or Tcl to parse log files, automate compiler tools, and manage regression databases.
- Solid understanding of AMBA subsystem protocols (AXI, AHB, APB) and processor interfaces to configure memory and clock domains inside the emulator.

How we counted: 1350 open Design Verification (Design Verification) roles from 99 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 7 Nov 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Digital Design & Verification family row.
