About the role
As an Applications Engineering Staff Engineer, you will work to grow the business for a portfolio of simulation products in the Aerospace & Defense sector. This role involves driving the adoption of Digital Mission Engineering software in Spain/France and EMEA's defense sector.
What you'll do
- Work independently within multi-disciplinary teams to grow the business for a full portfolio of simulation products in Aerospace and Defence.
- Provide technical support to customers, demonstrating mastery of engineering simulation techniques within aerospace domains.
- Interact with aerospace customers to understand their solution needs and engineering design workflows.
- Lead complex customer engagements throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle.
- Gather customer requirements to support continuous software improvement and guide the product roadmap.
- Mentor junior application engineers, fostering their technical growth and customer-facing skills.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Aerospace/Astronautical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 4-5 years of hands-on professional experience.
- Fluent in writing and speaking both Spanish/French and English.
- Prior experience in modeling and simulation of complex aerospace systems (space launch vehicles, satellites, aircraft, defense systems).
- Demonstrated understanding of aerospace engineering practices, product development lifecycles, and experience with building and deploying simulation solutions within engineering workflows.
- Competency in Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and familiarity with programming languages: Python, MATLAB, C#, Java.
- Familiarity with Communications, Radars, & Sensors Systems (RF propagation, link analysis, jamming/interference, detection and tracking).
- Knowledge of Multiphysics tools (e.g., structural, fluid dynamics, electromagnetics, thermal).
Nice to have
- Demonstrated use of Ansys DME software (STK, ODTK).
- Understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Familiarity with Astrodynamics (orbital mechanics, trajectory optimization) and/or Flight Dynamics (aircraft stability and control, aerodynamic performance).
