About the role
Skyworks is seeking an Analog Design Engineering Intern in San Jose to contribute to analog and RF functional block designs. Internships are offered across the High Performance Analog, Advanced Cellular, and Connectivity and Sensors business groups.
What you'll do
- Contribute to the design of functional blocks including LNA, switch, DSA, SOI analog blocks, and RF Modules while considering size, cost, footprint, and schedule.
- Produce designs with challenging specifications and perform trade studies to guide design decisions.
- Adapt designs to meet customer requirements for ruggedness, ESD, and quality.
- Develop and contribute design schematics, simulations, and real lab data as part of a collaborative team.
- Operate signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters to compare simulated results to physical lab measurements.
- Maintain a weekly summary log documenting technical progress and performance metrics.
What you'll need
- Current enrollment in an MS or PhD degree program in Electrical Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Completed coursework in analog/RF circuit design focused on LDO (low-dropout regulators), bandgap circuits, differential amplifiers, and operational amplifiers.
- Completed coursework in analog layout techniques, including common centroid layout, interdigitated layout, and the use of dummy devices.
- Hands-on software experience with Cadence Virtuoso, PVS, and Cadence Assembler and Explorer.
- Software exposure to tools such as ADS, AWR, FEM, HFSS, Momentum, Dynamic Link, Python, Spotfire, or Matlab.
