About the role
This role involves the architecture and design of analog chips, sub-sections, and IP, taking full ownership from definition through release to manufacturing.
What you'll do
- Architect, design, and take full ownership of analog chips, sub-sections, and IP from definition to manufacturing release.
- Direct, guide, and participate in designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating electronic parts and integrated circuits.
- Evaluate project results during design and silicon evaluation to ensure technical objectives are met.
- Collaborate with Design Verification teams to ensure all technical tasks are completed before tape-out.
- Collaborate with validation, product engineering, and test engineering teams for successful production transfer.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's and Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years of analog circuit design experience.
Nice to have
- Experience with IC system partitioning and architectural tradeoff analysis.
- Block level topology selection, hand analysis, and IC transistor level implementation.
- Schematic generation and simulation on modern CAD tools (Cadence tool set).
- Experience with worst case identification, top level simulation, Monte Carlo analysis, and simulation data analysis.
- Expertise in tools such as Spectre, Simplis, Matlab, and AMS.
- System level understanding and analysis, and ability to translate requirements to an IC specification level.
- Physical layout management, signal grounding, routing tradeoffs, and die area optimization.
- Post layout parasitic extraction and simulation, and verification of all IC level performance metrics.
- Top level verification, block level modelling, and top level simulation.
- Knowledge of device physics and process technologies tradeoffs applicable to Power IC design.
- Ability to budget time, manage schedule, and complete complex IC design tasks on time.
- Meticulous approach to assure high quality results.
- Account for limitations of system level specifications, testability, debug, characterization, production, and yield targets in the IC design phase.

How we counted: 282 open Analog IC Design (Analog Design) roles from 51 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 30 Sept 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Analog & Mixed-Signal family row.
