Support the stable operation of PEALD and PECVD semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

About the role

This role involves ensuring the stable operation of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including PEALD and PECVD systems, at ASM's R&D facilities. You will be responsible for maintenance, modification, and troubleshooting of equipment used in new product development, collaborating closely with process engineers, design engineers, and the Global Product Support (GPS) team.

What you'll do

  • Install, set up, modify, and maintain semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Manage the stable operation of R&D equipment such as PEALD and PECVD systems.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and troubleshooting for equipment issues.
  • Evaluate, test, and support the setup of new products and modules.
  • Collaborate with process, design, and GPS teams on technical matters.
  • Maintain and improve vacuum, gas supply, and RF plasma related systems.
  • Promote preventive maintenance and continuous improvement activities.
  • Create and update work procedures and maintenance documentation.

What you'll need

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related science/engineering field.
  • Experience in equipment maintenance, facility engineering, process engineering, or development engineering in the semiconductor industry.
  • Experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment maintenance or troubleshooting.
  • Basic knowledge of vacuum, gas supply systems, and equipment control.
  • Technical communication ability in Japanese.
  • Ability to read technical documents in English (e.g., TOEIC 600 points).
