Join Intel Foundry as a Yield Development Engineer.

About the role

As a Yield Development Engineer, you will identify root cause yield and reliability limiters, perform failure analysis, and develop methodologies to enhance process development to achieve yield and reliability milestones.

What you'll do

  • Develop and implement methodologies for defect-mode understanding and yield and reliability modeling.
  • Analyze manufacturing and experimental data to identify anomalies and drive process changes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to debug yield limiters in design, test, and process development.
  • Develop analytical tools and techniques, algorithms, and systems for failure analysis and defect detection.
  • Conduct fault isolation and failure analysis using electrical, optical, and simulation tools.
  • Ensure manufacturability through analysis of process and product design intersections.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Solid-State Physics, or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience OR Master's degree in a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in statistical data analysis tools, such as JMP or Python, and coding techniques.
  • Experience with semiconductor process development and defect-mode analysis.
  • Fundamental understanding and hands-on expertise with fault isolation and failure analysis tools (e.g., IRLC, CSAM, SEM, TDR testing, curve tracing).

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with advanced imaging techniques (e.g., IRLC, 2D and 3D X-rays, Acoustic Imaging, SEM).
  • Experience with electrical fault isolation methods (e.g., EOTPR, TDR, ELITE).
  • Experience with sample prep methods and tools (e.g., Laser Milling, Ion Milling, Mechanical Polishing).
