About the role
This role brings industrial engineering expertise into Workplace Solutions (WPS) at the Santa Rosa site to identify process improvements across labs and manufacturing operations. As a senior individual contributor, you will partner with WPS, IC Fab, labs, and business teams to eliminate waste and implement sustainable, repeatable processes.
What you'll do
- Partner with IC Fab process owners and maintenance teams to coordinate shared processes, including utility shutdowns, preventive maintenance, changeovers, and equipment onboarding.
- Lead Lean assessments, Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and 5S across facilities processes supporting the fab.
- Apply A3, PDCA, and root cause methods such as 5 Why and fishbone analysis to resolve equipment downtime, utility interruptions, and safety incidents.
- Lead FMEAs and build error-proofing into critical facilities processes and fab support systems including power, cooling, compressed air, and process utilities.
- Conduct time studies, workload analyses, and staffing models while developing standard work and business cases evaluating return on investment.
- Improve CMMS/IWMS data quality, preventive maintenance strategies, and support space planning in non-fab areas considering ergonomics and material flow.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Facilities Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Typically 10–12 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, facilities, or industrial engineering.
- Proven success leading Lean assessments and 5S in a manufacturing or process environment.
- Working knowledge of error-proofing, FMEA, root cause analysis, and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and OSHA requirements as applied to facilities operations.
- Experience with data analysis tools including Excel and tools such as Power BI or Minitab.
Nice to have
- Experience leading Lean projects across 100,000 or more square feet, a full facility, or a comparable production scope.
- Experience in a fab, cleanroom, lab, or high-tech manufacturing environment.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
- Experience with CMMS/IWMS tools such as Maximo, SAP PM, Archibus, or similar.
- Experience with CAD or layout tools such as AutoCAD, Visio, or similar.
- Project management experience.
