Work on the HVDC datacenter product line, designing chips for AI datacenter power supplies, including 400V GaN power stages and low-voltage synchronous rectifiers.
About the role
This role is for a Validation Engineer who will lead validation efforts for the HVDC datacenter product line, focusing on 400V GaN power stages and low-voltage synchronous rectifiers. You will play a critical part in bringing AI datacenter power solutions to market.
What you'll do
- Work with product definition and design teams to understand validation requirements and specifications.
- Define, own, and drive a comprehensive validation test plan and schedule, ensuring traceability and on-time delivery.
- Design and build validation PCBs using Cadence Allegro X that meet high-voltage signal and power integrity requirements for GaN power stages and high-current requirements for low-voltage synchronous rectifiers.
- Build reusable, automated test sequences using NI TestStand and LabVIEW to execute the validation plan and collect characterization data.
- Analyze characterization data against VVCM specifications to assess device compliance and verify functional tests.
- Drive cross-functional reviews covering validation hardware, test results, and debug findings with stakeholders.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of relevant semiconductor industry experience in Characterization or Validation.
- Proficiency with lab instrumentation: oscilloscopes, SMUs, DMMs, signal generators, power supplies, and NI PXI system.
- Experience developing test automation using Python, NI TestStand, LabVIEW.
Nice to have
- Experience testing high-voltage GaN power stages and low-voltage synchronous rectifiers, including COSS, double-pulse test, SOA, and IDSAT measurements.
- Hands-on PCB design experience using Cadence Allegro X.
- Experience working with high-voltage power circuits in a lab environment.
- Familiarity with validation compliance tracking tools.
- Experience with Git or equivalent version control system.
- Experience with Spotfire or equivalent tool for data visualization and analysis.
- Working knowledge of statistical methods for limit validation: distribution analysis, Cpk, and specification capability.
Skills: datasheet validation, GaN power stages, PCB design, LabVIEW, oscilloscopes, root cause analysis
