About the role
This role involves designing, developing, and deploying advanced test systems to validate the performance, reliability, and durability of SiC power modules. You will build tools and technologies that enable product qualification, reliability research, and continuous innovation in power electronics.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and deploy advanced test benches for Wolfspeed's SiC power modules.
- Own the complete hardware development lifecycle, including schematic capture, PCB layout, prototype bring-up, verification, and release.
- Create schematics and design complex multilayer printed circuit boards using Altium Designer or equivalent PCB design tools.
- Perform circuit simulation and analysis using LTspice or similar tools to validate designs.
- Develop and evaluate analog, mixed-signal, and power circuitry.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, mechanical, and instrumentation issues.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of professional experience in electrical hardware design and development.
- Experience designing multilayer analog and mixed-signal printed circuit boards.
- Experience with circuit simulation and analysis tools such as LTspice or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience using electronic laboratory instrumentation, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators.
- Experience debugging and validating electronic hardware at the board and system levels.
Nice to have
- Experience with Altium Designer.
- Understanding of signal integrity, grounding techniques, EMI/EMC mitigation, and power distribution network design.
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar mechanical CAD tools.
- Familiarity with microcontroller-based systems such as Infineon PSoC, STM32, PIC, or similar platforms.
- Experience with instrumentation control or data acquisition systems.
- Experience developing hardware for high-voltage power electronics applications.
- Familiarity with reliability testing methodologies.
