About the role
This role is for a Regional Field Applications Engineer on a global team, acting as a technical advisor to cloud service providers and server/network OEMs, designing solutions with Astera Labs' connectivity products. The role focuses on Astera Labs' Intelligent Connectivity Platform, which integrates CXL®, Ethernet, NVLink, PCIe®, and UALink™ semiconductor-based technologies.
What you'll do
- Identify and understand customer requirements for complex SoC/silicon products.
- Propose Astera Labs solutions providing clear value to customers.
- Provide hands-on design-in support for connectivity products.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement customer requirements into the product roadmap.
- Debug silicon/system issues in customer systems.
- Write scripts and example codes to enable smooth integration for customers.
What you'll need
- BS in electrical engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience working with Cloud service providers and server OEM customers.
- Hands-on knowledge of high-speed protocols like PCIe, Ethernet, Infiniband, DDR, NVMe, USB.
- Silicon/System bring-up and debug experience.
- Experience with lab equipment including protocol analyzers and oscilloscopes.
- Strong background in high-speed board design techniques and understanding of Data Center systems.
- Firmware debug and programming (C-language), scripting with Python or other equivalent programming languages.
- Ability to understand and review boards schematics and layout files.
- Ability to build setups based on customer systems and demands.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in engineering.
- Development/support for PCIe or Ethernet Switch products.
- Knowledge of simulation/modeling, schematic capture, and PCB layout tools from Cadence, Altium.
- Knowledge of simulation tools such as Keysight ADS, Mathworks QCD, for IBIS-AMI analysis.
