Define, model, and evaluate magnetic sensing integrated circuits (ICs).
About the role
As a Systems Engineer, you will help define, model, and evaluate magnetic sensing integrated circuits (ICs) that bring motion and control to life in everyday technology.
What you'll do
- Assist senior engineers in breaking down customer use cases, application notes, and industry standards into clear IC-level electrical and functional requirements.
- Build and run behavioral simulations using MATLAB, Simulink, or Python to analyze magnetic behavior, sensor noise performance, and mixed-signal processing paths.
- Help maintain system requirements and verification traceability using requirements management tools (such as Jama Connect).
- Work in the lab alongside Applications, IC Design, and Test Engineering teams to set up testbenches, validate silicon performance against system requirements, and characterize system behavior across operating conditions.
- Support the creation of technical collateral, including datasheets, application notes, design calculation tools, and validation summary reports.
- Partner with Analog/Digital IC Design, Test Engineering, and Marketing teams to ensure alignment on product deliverables throughout the product development lifecycle.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- 0 to 3 years of academic or industry experience (relevant engineering internships or co-ops strongly valued).
- Foundational proficiency with numerical modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB / Simulink or Python.
- Solid foundational knowledge of analog circuits, digital logic, signal processing, and feedback/control systems.
- Hands-on experience with standard electrical lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, multimeters) gained through coursework, projects, prior internships, or job experience.
Nice to have
- Prior internship or project experience in the semiconductor, automotive electronics, or power/motor control industries.
- Exposure to serial automotive/sensor communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, SENT, CAN, PWM).
- Exposure to functional safety concepts (ISO 26262) or requirements management systems (e.g., Jama Connect).
- Basic experience with PCB design or automated test setups (Altium, KiCad, MATLAB, Python).
Skills: behavioral models, lab validation, mixed-signal IC architectures, MATLAB/Simulink, sensor noise performance
