About the role
As a Systems Engineer at Applied Materials, you will design, integrate, and optimize complex semiconductor equipment systems, analyze requirements, define system architectures, and ensure the integration of subsystems. Projects encompass a multidisciplinary mix of electrical, mechanical, physics, algorithms, and software design.
What you'll do
- Define and design complex components, modules, and sub systems while contributing to system engineering specifications that meet market requirement specifications (MRS). - Lead architecture brainstorming sessions, down-select to final subsystem architectures, and assist in creating architectural design concepts. - Conduct detailed engineering analysis of sub systems across functional requirements and technical disciplines. - Build and qualify prototypes of new designs or procure subsystems from suppliers and test for compliance with specifications. - Identify and troubleshoot complex engineering problems, including serviceability and manufacturability concerns. - Support system integration during assembly, final testing, and reliability verification, providing remote and onsite support to field personnel.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree. - 4-7 years of relevant engineering experience. - Experience with architecture definition, subsystem design, and engineering specifications. - Ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems across electrical, mechanical, physics, algorithms, or software domains. - Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
