System Hardware Engineer - Zhubei, Taiwan
About the role
This role participates in the full product development lifecycle for system hardware, spanning specification definition, circuit design, PCB development, system validation, and mass production. You will focus on AI accelerator products, primarily PCIe add-in cards and M.2 modules.
What you'll do
- Develop hardware products based on AI accelerators, including schematic design, design reviews, component selection, and coordination with PCB layout engineers for high-speed interfaces, power circuits, clocks, and peripheral circuitry. - Perform new board bring-up, functional verification, and system integration testing, covering power, signal integrity, stability, performance, thermal, and long-duration reliability. - Provide hardware platforms and debugging support for firmware development, utilizing oscilloscopes and logic analyzers to debug boot flow, PCIe enumeration, I2C/SMBus, SPI, UART, GPIO, reset, and power sequencing. - Support product validation and issue resolution throughout EVT, DVT, and PVT stages, collaborating with PCB vendors, EMS/ODM partners, and component suppliers. - Assist customers during evaluation, integration, and deployment by diagnosing issues related to PCIe compatibility, system stability, performance, power, and thermal behavior. - Author hardware specifications, validation reports, Hardware Design Guides, and Application Notes.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. - 5+ years of experience in hardware system, motherboard, add-in card, or module design. - Solid knowledge of PCIe and M.2 interface standards and design guidelines. - Familiarity with SPI, I2C, SMBus, and UART interfaces. - Proficiency with EDA schematics and design tools (OrCAD, Allegro). - Hands-on expertise with lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers) for signal integrity validation and debugging.
