About the role
As an AI Software Core Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and optimize features for the Qualcomm AI Stack within the Qualcomm AI Runtime (QAIRT) SDK, specifically Core software including Generative AI Inference Extensions (Genie). You will contribute to the efficient execution of deep neural networks (DNNs), large language models (LLMs), and modern AI architectures on Qualcomm low-power AI accelerators and Snapdragon platforms.
What you'll do
- Develop software for the Qualcomm AI Stack SDKs, specifically QAIRT and Genie, to support the execution of generative AI models on Snapdragon platforms. - Design and implement core components of the Qualcomm AI Stack runtime framework for inference on resource-constrained AI systems operating in low power, small memory footprint platforms. - Validate, analyze, and optimize runtime efficiency, latency, power consumption, and accuracy through detailed testing of machine learning use cases. - Debug complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure high system reliability across AI workloads. - Participate in design and code reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable AI software solutions. - Lead or assist in feature development and application of machine learning techniques into products and AI solutions.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. - General software development experience: 2+ years (Senior) or 5+ years (Staff) (or Master's degree with 3+ years, or PhD with 2+ years). - Proficiency in software development using C/C++. - Experience with development in a Linux environment. - Strong software development skills in data structure and algorithm design, software design paradigms, debugging, and testing.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. - 1+ years (Senior) / 3+ years (Staff) of experience building embedded software applications. - 1+ years (Senior) / 3+ years (Staff) of software development experience with Python. - Experience developing AI solutions in TensorFlow, JAX, TFLite, LiteRT, PyTorch, ExecuTorch, or ONNX Runtime. - Familiarity with generative AI model architectures such as LLMs and hardware acceleration at the connected edge. - Experience with development on platforms such as Android or Windows, and knowledge of low-level interactions between operating systems and hardware. - Experience with CMake-based build environments, git-based SCM, or Qualcomm AI Stack products such as QNN and Genie.
