About the role
As a Staff RFIC Design Engineer, you will design highly-integrated microwave and millimeter-wave RFICs in advanced silicon processes in San Diego, CA.
What you'll do
- Design highly-integrated microwave and millimeter-wave RFICs.
- Develop technical depth and drive product-level ownership, customer interaction, and system definition.
- Define and implement RFIC design process improvements.
What you'll need
- MSEE or PhD with 5+ years of IC design experience.
- RF design experience in advanced silicon processes.
- Understanding of analog, RF, and mmW design techniques including parasitic modeling and EM analysis.
- Understanding of front-end PA, LNA, and switch circuits, including the impact of transition and package.
- Familiarity with RF/mmWave beamforming architectures and circuit blocks such as phase shifters and VGA.
- Knowledge of verification methodologies including behavioral, analog, RF, AMS, and basic Verilog/VerilogA.
Nice to have
- Design experience in analog or digital PLLs with block-level expertise in PFD, Charge Pumps, Dividers, VCOs, or LDO and low-noise power supply design.
- Knowledge of packaging technologies, packaging impact on circuit design, and the ability to perform EM analysis on packages.
- Knowledge of foundry processes to perform trade-studies for specific RFIC applications.
- Experience with Cadence, EMX, or other electromagnetic simulators.
- Experience in silicon characterization and debugging.
- Experience mentoring others in advanced circuit design and simulation techniques.
