About the role
This role involves merging technical expertise with creativity to drive groundbreaking projects and bring new ideas to life within Research & Development.
What you'll do
- Work closely with engineering test and design teams to create test programs with test limits supporting datasheet coverage and robust test results.
- Develop solutions to yield and quality problems, pre- and post-production.
- Drive design-for-test and manufacturability, and quality improvement through PPM reduction.
- Drive product characterization and qualification planning, testing, and analysis, including corner lot planning.
- Monitor new product qualifications, perform read-point drift/shift analysis, and provide dispositions for failures.
- Interface with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues requiring in-depth product knowledge and drive failure analysis.
What you'll need
- BSEE with a minimum 8+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry.
- In-depth knowledge of mixed-signal electronic products and processes.
- Fundamental understanding of product design implementation and NPI milestones.
- Knowledge of silicon product manufacturing process, including wafer fabrication, wafer probe testing, device assembly, and final electrical testing.
- Knowledge of package and device level reliability stresses and the associated failures.
- Ability to understand application conditions and datasheet specifications and their relation to automated test programs.
- Experience with Silicon.da, Galaxy Examinator and/or JMP data analysis tools.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of digital multi-phase controllers and power-stage products.
- Experience with V93K, Teradyne (Eagle) ETS and/or J750 test platforms.
- Coding skills and experience with AI tools.

How we counted: 151 open Product Engineering (Manufacturing Equipment) roles from 47 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 14 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Silicon Validation & Test family row.
