About the role
As a Staff Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for the oversight, metrics, and continuous improvement projects of assigned equipment sets within Skyworks' Fabrication Operations Team.
What you'll do
- Evaluate, select, and order equipment for manufacturing company products.
- Oversee the installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
- Maintain current records on equipment manufacturers' technical notices, upgrades, and safety issues.
- Study equipment performance and reliability to define priorities and drive constant performance improvement across toolsets.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering organizations.
- Define preventive maintenance procedures and schedules.
What you'll need
- BS degree in electrical or mechanical engineering (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of direct relevant experience, or an MS with 6+ years of experience.
- Experience supporting complex manufacturing equipment, including theory of operation, tool install requirements, window of operation, tool performance diagnostics, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Familiarity with ISO requirements 9001 and 14000.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
- Experience with maintenance administration activities and interaction with tool vendors, field service engineers (FSE), and repair houses.
- Demonstrated ability to guide and mentor team members on maintenance practices and toolset expertise.
