About the role
The Staff Engineer, Facilities Electrical is responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, and operation of electrical systems for Amkor’s OSAT factory in Peoria, Arizona. Scope covers medium- and low-voltage power distribution, emergency power systems, lighting, facility infrastructure, and tools hookup to support cleanroom manufacturing operations.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with electrical design consultants, review electrical drawings and submittals, and monitor construction progress. - Support commissioning activities, including equipment preparation, functional testing, and system validation. - Provide operational and maintenance support for electrical distribution systems, switchgear, transformers, UPS, and emergency generators. - Execute Arc Flash Studies, system capacity planning, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance programs. - Ensure compliance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), safety standards, and corporate guidelines. - Apply reliability engineering principles, including FMEA and root cause analysis, to optimize system performance and energy efficiency.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. - 3+ years of experience in electrical systems engineering (design and operations), preferably in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing. - Strong understanding of power distribution systems, switchgear, transformers, UPS, and emergency power systems. - Familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and other relevant standards. - Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, Bluebeam, and arc flash study software. - Experience in semiconductor facility design, construction, commissioning, and start-up.
