About the role
The Staff Engineer, Facilities Controls System is responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, and operation of facility control systems supporting Amkor’s OSAT factory in Peoria, AZ. The scope spans PLC and SCADA platforms regulating HVAC, ultrapure water, wastewater treatment, gas and chemical delivery, and life safety systems.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with instrumentation and controls design vendors, review engineering drawings and submittals, and monitor construction progress. - Support commissioning activities, equipment preparation, operational testing, and issue resolution during construction and start-up phases. - Provide engineering support for operation and maintenance of PLC and SCADA systems, responding to interruptions across HVAC, UPW, WWT, gas, chemical, and life safety systems. - Conduct root cause analysis, trend evaluations, and FMEA to modify control logic and programming to prevent recurrence. - Develop and maintain an instrument calibration program for transmitters, control valves, and positioners. - Perform system capacity planning, troubleshooting, and sustaining activities in partnership with operations and maintenance teams.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Controls Engineering, or a related field. - 3+ years of experience in facilities control systems engineering (design and operations), preferably in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing. - Strong understanding of PLCs, SCADA systems, PID controllers, and variable frequency drives. - Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings and engineering specifications. - Familiarity with HMI operator interfaces and industrial communication protocols. - Experience in semiconductor facility design, construction, commissioning, and start-up.
