About the role
This Staff Electrical Design Engineer role contributes to the development of silicon photonics based artificial intelligence accelerators and interconnect products.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with system architects to define system-level hardware requirements.
- Design power, memory, and interconnect circuits in analog and digital domains.
- Identify electrical and optical components based on IC and photonics engineering specifications.
- Develop conceptual designs, physical modeling, and simulations of chip-modules and systems.
- Oversee and review PCB layout designs, providing electrical constraint rules.
- Perform laboratory validation of boards and systems.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in system-level electrical design, taking products from concept to production.
- Proficiency in schematic design using Cadence, Mentor, or Altium tool sets.
- In-depth knowledge of VRMs, high speed SERDES, CPUs, PCIe, Ethernet, QSPI, I3C, and I2C.
- 5+ years of experience in lab experimentation, non-intrusive circuit debugging, and leading cross-functional integration teams.
- Experience working with thermal solutions for integrated circuits and board level systems.
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management tools like Oracle Agile, Arena, or Omnify PLM, including BOM and ECO management.
Nice to have
- Experience designing electrical systems for networking.
- Knowledge of integrated circuit layout and designing a carrier PCBA.
- Familiarity with Systems Engineering principles.
- Familiarity with 3D Mechanical CAD tools like Solidworks or AutoCAD.
