About the role
Ambarella is seeking a Sr. System Software Engineer to develop applications on embedded Linux systems and maintain SDK build systems and selected device drivers.
What you'll do
- Develop applications on embedded Linux systems.
- Maintain SDK build systems and maintain selected device drivers.
- Provide technical support to customers worldwide to support integration of Ambarella solutions.
- Collaborate with other teams on software development.
- Prepare technical documentation for customers.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of Linux fundamentals, the Linux kernel, and driver development.
- Strong C programming skills and sound software engineering practices.
- Familiarity with scripting languages including Makefile, Shell, and Python.
- Good understanding of embedded hardware and computer architecture.
- Basic knowledge of video and audio fundamentals.
- Good written and spoken English.
Nice to have
- Experience with the Yocto build system.
- Experience with Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes/K3s.
- Contributions to open-source communities.
