About the role

As a Sr. This role focuses on the mechanical development of AMD’s advanced server products and platforms.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with a global team to define, design, and integrate mechanical systems for compute and networking products.
  • Lead mechanical development efforts spanning server design, system architecture, rack-level integration, cooling solutions, and laser and optics technologies.
  • Champion Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) principles for high-volume production.
  • Perform advanced mechanical design and modeling in Creo, conduct tolerance analyses, and develop system-level design solutions.
  • Contribute to post-silicon development through test planning, characterization, data analysis, and support of customer/reference systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, serving as a technical authority in design reviews and cross-functional decision-making.

What you'll need

  • Demonstrated experience in electromechanical product design, integration, and validation for high-performance computing.
  • Deep understanding of mechanical materials, manufacturing processes (sheet metal, injection molding, die casting, extrusion), and industry standards.
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as Creo, including complex modeling and assembly management skills.
  • Expertise in the integration of silicon into system-level products in high-performance computing/server environments.
  • Advanced understanding of thermal management, cooling systems, mechanical modeling tools, and industry-standard design practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical methods, structural analysis, tolerance analysis, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Nice to have

  • Advanced experience managing and contributing to multiple technically diverse programs in parallel.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex engineering programs from concept through volume production.
  • Extensive experience in server, AI infrastructure, rack integration, and data center platform design.
  • Proficiency in developing mechanical solutions at the system level for semiconductor products, including data analysis and product characterization.
  • Optics and laser experience.
