About the role
Qualcomm's SoC Platform Architecture team defines platform architectures and solutions for system-on-chip (SoC) products across cloud, compute, automotive, mobile, wearables, XR, and IoT business lines. The role focuses on architecture definition and trade-off analysis across Network-On-Chip, System MMU, interrupts, debug, power management, and security.
What you'll do
- Create scalable SoC architecture in the areas of Network-On-Chip, System MMU, Interrupts, Debug, Power Management, and Security. - Comprehend product requirements to steer generation of proper architecture and perform trade-off analysis in the solution space. - Collaborate with architects, technical leads, hardware engineers, and software engineers across functional areas to integrate solutions into the overall SoC. - Generate detailed architectural specifications and work closely with design teams to implement the architecture. - Use, improve, and develop modeling and analysis tools such as functional and performance simulators and profilers.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years of Systems Engineering or related experience (or Master's with 7+ years, or PhD with 6+ years). - 2+ years of experience in system architecture technology areas and products (such as Power System, Shared Resource Management, Limits/Thermal Management, or Hardware Islands). - Background in IP or SoC architecture and front-end design or verification micro-architecture. - Experience spanning levels of abstraction across system-design, high-level languages, OS, HW/SW interface, micro-architecture, and silicon implementation. - Programming ability for modeling and automation using C or Python.
Nice to have
- Master's degree or PhD in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. - 15 years of SoC/IP architecture or micro-architecture/front-end design experience, including experience as an SoC Arch lead. - Experience with Arm system architectures (Cortex-A, Cortex-R, Cortex-M, SMMU, GIC, CoreSight) or RISC-V architecture. - Knowledge of high-speed I/O protocols including PCIe, CXL, and USB, or networking interfaces such as Ethernet and CAN. - Expertise in external memory and storage architectures including LPDDR, NAND Flash, and NOR Flash. - Experience with performance and power modeling, simulation frameworks, or operating systems including Android, Linux, Windows, Zephyr, and FreeRTOS.
