About the role
As a Sr. Staff Hardware Engineer at Teradyne in San Jose, CA, you will join the Memory Tester Business Unit designing IC testers for the DRAM and Flash memory market. You will influence system and board-level architecture for large-scale, multi-board hardware systems from concept through design, test, manufacture, and customer release.
What you'll do
- Influence system and board level architecture for large-scale, multi-board hardware systems. - Lead complex high-speed digital, analog, power, FPGA, and ASIC-based designs from concept through customer release. - Ensure product quality through high-speed design practices, signal integrity (SI), and power integrity (PI) concepts. - Act as a technical escalation point to solve complex design and customer issues and perform root cause analysis. - Provide technical leadership and mentorship to peers and junior engineers. - Develop scalable production hardware solutions in collaboration with senior leaders, management, customers, and partners.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field. - 8+ years of experience in hardware, board design, and architecture with demonstrated ownership of complex systems from concept through production. - Experience as a design lead across board level circuitry, including high speed digital, custom analog design, power distribution, and FPGA-based systems, with knowledge of mechanical and thermal considerations. - Expert level knowledge of high-speed interconnects (DDR, PCIe, USB, SerDes) and high-speed PCB design techniques including signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) in multi-board systems. - Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional design efforts and acting as a technical leader to senior leadership, customers, partners, and suppliers.
