What you'll do
- Influence and oversee the extension of training or runtime frameworks and model efficiency software tools with new features and optimizations. - Determine and oversee guidelines for modeling, architecture, and developing machine learning hardware co-designed with machine learning software for inference or training solutions. - Direct the development of optimized software, including machine learning kernels, compiler tools, and model efficiency tools, to enable AI models deployed on hardware. - Execute product proposals and roadmaps across varying levels of complexity while defining strategic direction for engineering teams. - Supervise direct reports, oversee manager-level staff, and manage departmental budgets, schedules, and performance standards. - Provide status updates and experimental results on machine learning solutions to key cross-functional business stakeholders.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field with 10+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related experience (or Master's degree with 9+ years, or PhD with 8+ years). - Experience leading technical strategy and roadmap execution for hardware engineering or systems engineering programs. - Experience managing schedules, budgets, and engineering performance standards within a multidisciplinary organization.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. - 5+ years of experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Caffe, Caffe 2, PyTorch, or Keras. - 5+ years of experience with low-level interactions between operating systems (Linux, Android, QNX) and hardware. - 5+ years of experience in embedded system development and optimization within specific ML domains (e.g., NLP, multi-media). - 5+ years of experience with programming languages suitable for machine learning, such as Python, R, C, or C++. - 5+ years of experience using statistics and probability (e.g., conditional probability, Bayes rule). - Demonstrated track record of developing at least 1 novel machine learning architecture. - 4+ years in a technical leadership role with direct reports in a matrixed organization, and 3+ years interacting with senior leadership (Vice President and above).
