About the role
The Senior Staff Quality Engineer leads the Quality Management System (QMS) across internal design and external partners, including Contract Manufacturers (CMs), Foundries, and OSATs. The role oversees quality systems, development gate processes, and supplier quality for optical semiconductor and module integration.
What you'll do
- Own and evolve the existing ISO 9001-based QMS, refining SOPs, Work Instructions, Document Control, Material Review Board, Change Action Board, Calibration, Product Traceability, and 8D issue resolution.
- Define and implement the Stage-Gate process for hardware and software products to ensure maturity metrics and documentation (PRD, ERD) meet quality requirements before production release.
- Define and drive company-wide FMEA processes, ensuring both DFMEA (Design) and PFMEA (Process) are executed across all product lines.
- Govern external suppliers (Foundries, OSATs, CMs) according to QMS requirements, establishing IQC/OQC inspection criteria for high-precision optical components and Golden Unit benchmarks.
- Monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) and First Pass Yield (FPY) across manufacturing partners to detect and address process trends.
What you'll need
- 7 to 10 years of experience in Quality, Engineering, or Operations within the semiconductor or electronics industries.
- Proven experience managing and auditing an established QMS (ISO 9001 or IATF 16949).
- Demonstrated experience managing quality through external Foundries, OSATs, and Tier 1 Contract Manufacturers.
- Solid understanding of semiconductor manufacturing or advanced packaging.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Optical Sciences, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
