About the role
AMD is hiring a Sr. Software System Designer to research, design, develop, and test electronic components, software, and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing. The role involves defining system and software specifications, implementing virtualization features, and developing protection features for server platforms.
What you'll do
- Design complete frameworks, systems, or products and define specifications, input/output, and parameters for hardware and software compatibility.
- Conceive system interfaces and software application prototypes while identifying, analyzing, and resolving system design weaknesses.
- Contribute to the architectural framework used across multiple products and systems.
- Implement virtualization features and evaluate and implement protection features for server platforms.
- Apply engineering principles, best practices, and knowledge of processors, chips, circuit boards, and electronic equipment to the design, development, and testing of AMD products.
What you'll need
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
- One (1) year of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering or design role.
- One (1) year of experience programming in C, C++, and Python.
- One (1) year of experience with Linux or Windows internals, OS kernel and systems development, and OS development.
- One (1) year of experience with memory management and multi-threading.
- One (1) year of experience with software debugging (macOS, Linux, or Unix), Git, and open-source software development.
